Nice weather on the day and Saffron agreed to do some observing (in return for hanging onto the sandwiches and getting paid), whilst I fired up the TY250 after an 8 month layoff.
The Twinshock contigent consisted of myself and Kevin, on his TLR200.
Cleaned the first section, but a pretty wobbly ride round an excellent venue, with some great sections, including the very good Section 4, which had a steep rock bed that you circumvent round the tree, or just tackle head on.
Main issues of the day was the destruction of the kickstart bottom knuckle on the TY250, when I had an off in Section 5 (attempting the master’s route). I also managed to change the complete look of the section with taking out a tree as I came down the hill also. Nice !
Restarted the bike with a bump down the hill, but the impact had also broken a front wheel spoke and loosened the rear wheel nut, so by the time I ended Section 10 on the 3rd lap, the chain was off and that was that.
Time to retire and I spent the rest of the trial helping Saffron observe section 1. She did a great job, even if the hole punch was a bit stiff for 11 year old hands.
Nice to do a trial again; its a great venue and the weather was kind and benevolent.
