The Llanthony track is great, and I think it’s one of the best places in the country (and others) to race. Full Stop. Only had the MX250 running, with it’s fourth piston of the season, whilst the SC500 still languishes in the shed awaiting the bottom end fix (see articles passim).
After a dry practice, it started raining during my first race (race 2) and kept on raining for the rest of the day. The track held up to some extent, though the entries on the start line went down as the afternoon went on.
Not my best day on the track, but the MX250 went well and the new Wossner piston held up. My attempts to try out Steve’s 1976 Maico resulted in a snapped gear shift lever in the first twinshock race and followed by a puncture in race 2. Mark’s end can broke on the Cappra in race 1 and resulted in a noisier bike in the next race.
Alan came racing for the second time in the season, and brought the weather with him.
